Vigil Honoring Late Justice Ginsburg

As the gavel dropped on the most recent term of the US Supreme Court on Monday, October 5, community members gathered on the Winchester Town Common to honor the late justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and celebrate her long commitment to civil rights and equity.
The family-friendly gathering featured: a speech from Network volunteer Karen Hirschfeld; Network intern Ayesha Ghosh reading remarks prepared by fellow intern Adah Nordan; quotes from the late justice on display around the Common; social justice books and blankets for little ones to read or flip through; a collar-making craft; sidewalk chalk where attendees of all ages wrote messages urging passers by to vote; and ideas for ways to take action to honor the late justice’s legacy.
